Maruti Vitara Brezza will soon be available with new petrol as well as a diesel engine. It is reportedly launching by Diwali 2019.
Shocking as well as surprising news from Maruti Suzuki is trending these days. In a new report, it has been confirmed that Maruti Vitara Brezza will soon get petrol and a diesel engine onboard.
Interestingly, the Vitara Brezza Petrol will be launched by Diwali 2019. The festive season sees the highest sales of the year, as most of the automotive brands plan their launches for that period.
Talking about the diesel engine, it will not be available after April 2020. In a recent report, Maruti Suzuki confirmed that no diesel cars will be sold post April next year.

The engine onboard will definitely be the new 1.5 Litre K15B petrol unit, that came first on Ciaz and then on the new Ertiga. Also, the mild-hybrid SHVS technology will also be carried over.
The 1.5 Litre unit produces 105 BHP and 138 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed AT on offer. The same transmission setup will come on Maruti Vitara Brezza petrol.
The mild-hybrid system which comes on the 1.3 Litre diesel engine, will also be available on this petrol engine. The SHVS technology helps in a better fuel economy.
The current 1.3 Litre diesel unit will be replaced by the new 1.5 Litre diesel, that also came first on Ciaz. The new engine delivers 93 BHP and 225 Nm of torque. It comes paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Post April 2020, the diesel variants of every Maruti car will be stopped. The new engine will be introduced later with BS-6 compliance.
Maruti Vitara Brezza petrol will be around a Lakh cheaper than the diesel variant. The current price range starts from Rs 7.67 Lakhs to Rs 10.42 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
