Here is a recent accident involving a Maruti Vitara Brezza, where you can see the build quality and safety of the subcompact SUV.
Maruti Vitara Brezza has received a 4-star safety rating in the global NCAP crash test, making it the safest car from Maruti for India. We have seen many incidents where it has gone through a major mishap but has saved lives of passengers most of the time. Here is another accident that a Brezza recently went through.
The owner was driving on a two lane highway when he was trying to change the lane and hit a container from the back. Looks like the driver was trying to overtake and when he could not, he rammed into the truck at high speed. The car has been heavily impacted, but kept all the passengers safe with minor injuries.

The A-pillar and nearby crumple zones have all been affected. The damage has also reached the engine bay as several components have come out on the road. The bonnet has crumpled up and the windscreen has been shattered. However, if seen the cabin has not received a huge impact despite the driver side door coming off completely.
As the cabin is intact and airbags deployed, the passengers inside were all safe. The owner will put his Brezza under total loss as the damage seems to have exceeded more than 70%. In such case, he will receive the depreciated value of the car back from the insurance company itself. For instance, if it is 2 years old and has run about 50,000 kms, the owner could receive around Rs 3 Lakhs lesser than the original price.
This is the pre-facelifted Vitara Brezza that was earlier available with a diesel engine. Now, the BS6 compliant Brezza only gets a 1.5 Litre petrol engine that produces 104 PS and 138 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed AT. Prices start at Rs 7.34 Lakhs up to Rs 11.41 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
