Maruti Suzuki has announced at the launch of new Maruti Swift Dzire 2012 that it will rename and continue selling the old Maruti Swift Dzire in limited variants for taxi and fleet operators who require larger boot space. The official name of the older Swift Dzire has been announced as Maruti Swift Dzire Tour which will go on sales in April 2012. The Dzire Tour will be available only in two variants, one petrol and one diesel. The Petrol Swift Dzire tour is powered by thee K12M Engine of 1.2 Litre with 80 BHP of power and the diesel engine model is powered by 1.3 lire multijet diesel engine with 75 BHP of power. The feature set of the Dzire tour has been trimmed down to keep the cost low. The price of Swift Dzire Tour Lxi Petrol is Rs. 4.88 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi and the Swift Dzire Tour Ldi Diesel is priced at Rs. 5.91 Lakhs ex-showroom.

Maruti Swift Dzire Tour 2012 Features
To keep the cost competitive, the feature set of the Maruti Swift Dzire Tour has been revamped. The Dzire Tour will have the following features:
- Black Bumpers
- Black outside door handles
- Black outside rear view mirrors
- Steel Wheels
- Air Conditioner with heater
- Power steering
- Large boot space of about 450 Liters
The car will not be sold to individual car buyers for personal use, rather it will be sold only to taxi and fleet operators as Maruti does not want the old Dzire to cannibalize the sales of the new model which is sub-4-meter car which enjoys lower excise duties and offers better features than the old model.
If we compare the prices of Maruti Swift Dzire Tour 2012 with competing entry level sedans, the Tata Indigo XL diesel is priced at the same price tag of Rs. 5.91 Lakhs while the Toyota Etios Diesel is much pricier at about Rs. 6.7 Lakhs. The only entry level diesel sedan cheaper than the Dzire is Mahindra Verito which comes at a price tag of Rs. 5.97 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi.
