Honda has just pulled a rabbit out of the hat by launching the Honda Amaze at a price tag which will give Dzire nightmares in months to come. The Honda Amaze has been launched at a starting price of Rs.4.99 lakhs for the base petrol model which is what the Dzire costs as well. In order to counter the Amaze effect, Suzuki is gearing up to launch a new variant/limited edition variant of the Dzire which will be christened as the Maruti Swift Dzire Regal.
Special Features of Maruti Swift Dzire Regal
The Dzire Regal will be launched at an ex showroom price, Delhi of Rs.5.60 lakhs and will be pitted against the S variant of the Amaze which retail for an ex showroom, Delhi price of Rs.5.64 lakhs. The Regal edition will be offered in a serene blue colour according to sources which we think will be somewhat similar to the blue colour on offer on the Amaze which makes the car stand out from the rest.
It will come with a plethora of features which will include:
- All new leather upholstery
- Body coloured and electronically adjustable outside rear view mirrors
- An all new music system with advanced features
- Parking sensors at the rear
- Silver coloured grille on the front
Even with those features, the feature list just falls short of the one on Amaze and the limited edition might create a lot of Amaze, but may not translate into a lot of sales.
The Dzire will be feeling the heat of the Amaze in times to come and Amaze will surely be threatening its crown of being the best selling sedan in the country. Honda has already received over 6,500 bookings of the car and is ramping up the production capacity to further decrease the waiting periods the Amaze commands. The Dzire Regal is launched in only in petrol guise and will hit the showrooms by 3rd week of April 2013.
