Maruti Swift is one of the best-selling vehicles in our market ever but it is not particularly known for its safety.
In this bizarre video, a Maruti Swift owner is seen driving his hatchback into a tractor deliberately. Swift is a darling of Indian car buyers for decades now. People looking to upgrade from their entry-level Maruti products often opt for the Swift. It has almost never experienced dwindling sales which is a testament to how much people love their vehicles. However, there are always some weird and wannabe-clever car owners who adopt questionable techniques to claim insurance. This latest case looks like one such incident.

As per the information in the video, the Swift owner is performing this seemingly idiotic act in order to claim insurance. There are many cases where insurance companies refuse to give claims due to some technicalities. While that may be frustrating, there is no reason to purposefully damage your car just to claim insurance. But that is being experienced these days a lot. People try to be over-smart and they re-create the accident to show the damage. They claim the insurance then so that a significant impact could be displayed on the car.

What We Think
We understand why people do such activities but we don’t recommend this to anyone. In fact, we would explicitly suggest our readers to stay away from such practices. There are many reasons not to do it. Firstly, you are causing unnecessary damage to your vehicle. That is never a good thing. On top of that. if the insurance company finds out that this crash has been staged, they can easily write off your claim and you stand no chance. In fact, that will make your case worse. Therefore, it is better to stay away from such practices at all costs.
