In a bid to expand the popularity of the Maruti Swift, the largest carmaker in India has launched the Black Edition variant of the hatchback. Swift has been one of the most successful vehicles in the Indian carmaker since time immemorial. Maruti has made deliberate efforts to keep the design fresh. As a part of that exercise, this sporty trim has been launched. Generally, the younger generation is attracted to the all-black theme. Let us take a look at the details of this new model.

Maruti Swift Black Edition
The video has been uploaded by Wheels & Miles on YouTube. The YouTuber shares a walkaround tour of the Swift Black Edition. On the outside, there are LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, halogen turn indicators, fog lamps, prominent chrome bar on the large grille and the overall fascia remains identical to the regular model. On the sides, the 15-inch elegant alloys accentuate the appeal, there are no chrome elements in order to impose the black theme and the rear profile is identical to the regular version.

Interior and Features
On the inside, one gets greeted by a part-digital instrument cluster with MID display and analogue speedometer and odometer, touchscreen infotainment display with SmartPlay operating system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, cruise control, automatic climate control, flat-bottom steering wheel with silver finish and leather wrap, fabric on door panels, manual IRVM, height adjustable seats but there is no armrest at the front or rear. The boot space is a decent 268 litres.

In terms of the specifications, this variant will be available with petrol and CNG powertrains. There is a 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine that makes 89 hp and 113 Nm of peak power and torque. One can choose between a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission for a peppy ride. The price of the top ZXi+ trim of the Black Edition is Rs 8.29 lakh, ex-showroom. This could be a great model for the fun-seeking youngsters who are into the black theme making such special edition models successful.
