Indian automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch two new car models comprising diesel engines by the end of the year 2014. The company has a plan to make the diesel engines in Japan for upcoming Maruti models in India. The future growth of diesel vehicles in India will be going to good and thus Japanese parent Suzuki is becoming a helping hand for the making of engines and though Suzuki is making two in house engines.
As per the news the automobile expert is developing a 1 liter and 1.4 liter diesel engine in Japan, especially for India. The car which will be going to have the 1.4 lite r diesel engine may be placed above then the present compact sedan Dzire. Dzire is currently one of the top selling cars from Maruti Suzuki. The car falls under the bracket of 5.2 lakhs to 7.63 lakhs.
Presently the vehicle comprise of a powerful 1.3 liter DOHC diesel engine. The compact exteriors and the spacious interiors are the key point of the hot seller Dzire. Maruti presently source the diesel engines from the Italian car maker Fiat’s Indian collaborative unit. The contract signed between Fiat and Maruti for three years to provide 1.3 liter diesel engines has started from the year 2012. As per this deal Fiat India automobiles was game for providing one lakh 1.3 liter diesel engines to Maruti Suzuki India.
Now Maruti Suzuki India is planning a plant to produce diesel engines in huge quantity in Gurgaon India. The predicted monetary investment figures are Rs 1700 crore. The idea is to produce at around three lakhs units per year. The company has been sitting on cloud nine as because of its huge diesel demand cars especially sedan Dzire, hatchback Swift and the multipurpose vehicle Ertiga.
The Ertiga is the most demanded multipurpose vehicle in India these days and company has also launched an anniversary edition of it few days ago.
