Out of the top 10 best-selling cars in India for the month of April 2018, the top 6 positions were held by cars from the stable of Maruti Suzuki.
Maruti Suzuki has been the unchallenged leader in the Indian automotive arena since its inception. Many companies have tried to break this automaker’s successful streak, but all in vain. For the month of August 2018, Maruti Suzuki held the top 6 spots in the list of top 10 best-selling cars.
So which all Maruti Suzuki cars made to the list of top 10 best-selling cars in India for the month of August 2018?
Well, it was the Maruti Alto, Maruti Dzire, Maruti Swift, Maruti Baleno, Maruti WagonR and the Maruti Vitara Brezza.
And what were their individual positions on this list?
The Maruti Suzuki Alto, after being dropped to the third spot, it once again back at the top step of the podium. The second place was taken by the Dzire which was followed in the third place by its hatchback derivative Swift. Holding the fourth sport is the Baleno premium hatchback and in the fifth position is Maruti’s compact hatchback WagonR. On the sixth spot on the podium is the Vitara Brezza compact SUV.

The Maruti Alto sold a total of 22,237 units. The Dzire stands quite close to this entry-level hatchback with it clocking 21,990 unit sales for August 2018. The sales for the Swift stands at 19,115 and for that of the Baleno are 17,713. In fact, the Baleno’s sales account for 62 per cent of the total cars that the Indo-Japanese automaker sold through its Nexa dealership outlets. The WagonR and the Vitara Brezza’s sales figures stand at 13,658 and 13,271 respectively.

Well, that’s done for Maruti Suzuki, but now you must be wondering as to which cars were occupying the rest of the positions on this list. Here they are:
The rest of the four spots on the best-sellers for August 2018 were filled by the Hyundai Grand i10, Hyundai i20, Hyundai Creta and the Honda Amaze.

The seventh position was taken by the Hyundai Grand i10 with a total sales of 11,489 units. On the eight-step was the Hyundai i20 premium hatchback, the primary rival for Maruti Baleno with a total sales of 11,475 units. Hyundai Creta stood in the ninth position with a sales number of 10,394. And the final tenth position was held by the Honda Amaze with 9,644 units sold last month.

Coming back to Maruti Suzuki, this is not the first time that the company has completely dominated the chart for best-selling cars in the country. It manages to do this month after month. So, this brings us to an important question.
