The interiors of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will feature a dashboard center-mounted instrument cluster and it also comes very well equipped for its price.
Maruti Suzuki will be launching a brand new car on September 30 and it seems that the SUV craze has crept into the smallest of cars as well. The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is essentially a car of the size of a Renault Kwid – which is also its most logical rival – but is styled like an SUV. Now, we have some spy images of the interiors of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso.
Although, only the AC vents and instrument console stack is visible in the spy image, and nothing much can really be made out about the interiors of the S-Presso, we know its design has come from the Future S-Concept that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018. What’s most noteworthy from the concept is that it will feature a center mounted instrument cluster on the dashboard – a first for any Maruti Suzuki car.
What we do know more concretely are the equipment that would be offered in the interiors of the S-Presso, and they include – a digital speedometer, keyless entry with central locking, front power windows, rear parking censors, 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with voice recognition and Bluetooth connectivity, steering-mounted controls and a rear parcel tray as well.
The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is underpinned by the brand’s modular Heartect platform which is also what underpins the new WagonR. Also, it looks nothing quite like any other Maruti Suzuki car. It keeps up with the trend with SUV-design elements like a tall nose, body claddings and an overall boxy shape. Like all Maruti cars, space and practicality has been the priority in conceiving this car.

The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will just come with one engine option. It will be powered by a BS6-compliant 1.0-litre, three-cylinder K10B petrol engine which will put out about 68hp and 90Nm of torque. The engine will come mated to a 5-speed gearbox and will also have the option of a 5-speed AMT.

The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be offered in a total of four variants Std, Lxi, Vxi, and the top-spec Vxi+ and is expected to be priced around Rs 3.5-4.7 lakh. This car being in the entry level mini hatchback segment should drive good numbers for Maruti Suzuki. It will rival the Renault Kwid and also some lower variants of the Hyundai Santro.
