The largest carmaker in the country has an exciting strategy to enter the EV market and continue its dominance in India
The Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 is around the corner as Maruti Suzuki announces its plans for the future. The largest carmaker in the country has been able to secure its top spot quite comfortably. However, the competition in India is quite stiff. Also worth noting is the fact that Maruti Suzuki currently sells no electric cars. Nevertheless, that is about to change with the e Vitara. It is a mid-size electric SUV which will rival the likes of the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Mahindra BE 6e and Hyundai Creta EV. Let us delve into the details here.
Maruti Suzuki Reveals Plans For Bharat Mobility Expo 2025
Maruti Suzuki is calling their campaign “e For Me” at the auto expo. In essence, it will demonstrate not just the upcoming cars but the entire integrated ecosystem around EVs. This includes new-age technologies along with strategic plans to expand the charging infrastructure. We know that the lack of a charging network is one of the biggest hurdles facing mass EV adoption at the moment. To be honest, this is not just true for India but for every nation on the planet. Governments and private players are working tirelessly to create new charging stations on major highways to give EV owners peace of mind.

In addition, we will also see tons of lifestyle concept vehicles and models from its existing range of cars like Dzire, Swift, Invicto, Jimny, Fronx, Grand Vitara and Brezza. However, the main highlight will be the first EV from the Japanese car marque – the e Vitara. Note that we will also see its Toyota counterpart in the Urban Cruiser EV. It will be manufactured at Maruti’s Gujarat plant and exported to the international markets. It comes with a rugged design and two battery pack options – 49 kWh or 61 kWh. This results in 142 hp / 189 Nm to 172 hp / 189 Nm and 181 hp / 300 Nm (AWD) of peak power and torque, respectively, depending on the variant. Using Suzuki’s ALLGRIP-e technology, the torque is distributed according to the requirement.
