Maruti Jimny received a lot of attention from the media and potential customers alike when it was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023 in Delhi NCR.
Maruti Jimny SUV has been rendered as an EV in this latest post. Digital automobile artists possess the incredible ability and skillset to devise unique and enticing iterations of popular cars. As a result, the audience is able to acquaint themselves with a new version of a car that they’ve seen and known for the longest time. This is a great example of that. Jimny has been around for a long time, at least in the international markets. Hence, giving it a futuristic spin is much appreciated.

This illustration has been produced by SRK Designs on YouTube. It is a popular design house that develops creative visuals for a whole bunch of vehicles. This time around, there is a regular Jimny which the designer transforms into an electric car. To achieve that, there have been substantial minute modifications done to the aesthetics while keeping the overall silhouette still recognisable. This includes a massive grille at the front with vertical slats albeit the entire section has been sealed completely as EVs don’t need fresh air into the engine.

In addition to that, the bumper has been made more rugged and there is a sturdy skid plate as well, the round headlamps are reminiscent of the original Jimny, and so is the upright bonnet and stance. On the sides, one gets greeted by chunky wheel arches with black claddings atop the stylish and modernised alloy wheels accentuating the SUV aspect of the Jimny even further. There are compact side steps to enhance the ingress and egress characteristics of the SUV.

The side profile also has rear doors making it a 5-door version for better practicality. There is a quarter glass added at the rear completing the design. One can also see the charging cable attached to the rear where the traditional fuel tank cap is placed. Finally, the tail section is not visible but we can make out that it features the same design as the regular Jimny with a flat door panel with a spare tyre mounted on it. While there might be no plans for an electric Jimny yet, we appreciate this digital version.
