Maruti Suzuki is India’s most successful brand in terms of sales as well as the customer satisfaction and it definitely deserves it. With all the plants that the company has established the total production capacity is already amazingly above the level one could expect and with the new facility coming up soon, the total annual capacity is expected to reach the 17.5 Lakh milestone.
As expected, within the next two years the milestone will be reached and regarding the same one of Maruti’s spokesperson said, “Once the third plant (Plant C) is operational in two years, the total production capacity will be 17.5 lakh units”, said M.M. Singh, managing executive officer (production) of Maruti Suzuki on the sidelines of a CII logistics seminar,”
No doubt the company will successfully achieve what it aims for but what could be the reason for the new plant? A number of reason are there and the most important is the launch of 2011 Maruti Swift scheduled for the coming 17th of August which is expected to attract enormous sales as immediately as it is launched. Once the car reaches the dealerships claiming for another success alike the current Maruti Swift’s, the company will not rest even for a small while and will gear up for the 2012 Maruti Swift Dzire which is expected around the end of 2011 or the 2012 Auto Expo.
Apart from the above two the company is also ready with Maruti 800 replacement which was recently spied. The same is expected to be priced well under Rs. 2 Lakh and at this pricing will enter the untouched territory of Tata Nano.
With so many reasons there is no question why the company is planning to establish a new plant and aspiring for a collective huge annual capacity.
