Maruti Suzuki introduced Maruti Ignis in 2017. In a little over two years, it crosses 1 lakh sales mark which rounds up to roughly 3,700 units monthly.
First launched in January 2017, Maruti Suzuki Ignis is the smallest and the second hatchback to join the Nexa line up after the Baleno. Ignis now has crossed 1 lakh sales mark which may be less when compared to the Swift or WagonR but is far at par with its competition.
Earlier this year, Maruti launched the Ignis with more safety features and added styling to attract more buyers.

Safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts were always standard across all variant. The 2019 update saw seat belt reminder for the co-passenger, high-speed alert system and reverse parking sensors standard across all variants.
The exterior comes with LED Projector headlamps and DRL’S, LED taillamps and roof rails for tough looks. Although, the latter feature comes with Zeta and Alpha variant of the car. The tall boy design of the Ignis, makes the cabin feel airy and comfortable with the dual-tone dashboard.
The Ignis feature list includes a SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Mirror Link, push-button start-stop function, and automatic climate control.
The 2019 Ignis comes with three variants, Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Ignis is available in both automatic as well as a manual transmission.

Earlier the car was launched both in petrol as well as diesel engine but soon the diesel engine got discontinued due to low demand. Still, the Ignis crosses 1 lakh sales mark with this quirky and trendy design language.
Currently, it is powered by a 1.2 L K12 engine which generates 83bhp with 113Nm of torque. The car is available in 5-speed manual transmission or 5-speed automated manual transmission. The ARAI fuel economy is 20.90Km/L
The engine is compliant to BS-IV is same as the Baleno but soon will be upgraded to BS-VI emission norms.
