The Tour M Diesel engine of the Ertiga is based on the VDI trim and it retains almost every feature which is found on the regular VDI trim
Maruti Suzuki has silently launched the Tour M version of their popular MPV, Ertiga, in a diesel engine. It is priced at Rs 9.81 lakh which makes it Rs 5,000 cheaper than the regular Ertiga. It is based on the VDI trim. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has the Tour M options in petrol and CNG options too. The CNG trim of the Tour M was launched in July this year and has garnered a fair amount of sales. This specific trim is catered for the cab drivers and aggregators. The price of the Tour M CNG trim sticks at Rs 8.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Tour M diesel gets a 1.5-litre DDiS turbocharged engine which produces 95 bhp on tap along with 225 Nm of peak torque. Transmission option sticks to a 6-speed manual gearbox and the engine is a BS6 Compliant. The ARAI certified fuel economy stands at 24.2 km/l.

Since the Tour M versions of Maruti cars lack the comfort and convenience features, the Ertiga here retains most of its features similar to the VDI Trim. It gets the projector headlamps, body coloured ORVMs, body coloured door handles and LED taillights.
The safety features on this taxi version of the Ertiga gets dual front airbags, Antilock Braking System with Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Rear Parking Sensors, Brake Assist, High speed alert system and Front Seat Belt Reminder.
The interiors of the diesel Tour M gets the same dual tone beige and black colour scheme. It gets all four power windows, rear AC vents, bottle holders and cabin lights for each row, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs and among others.

It also gets a 2 DIN audio system with Bluetooth, Aux-in and USB connectivity and also receives steering mounted controls. This taxi version of the diesel Ertiga can be availed in three colour options – White, Silver and Black.
In other news, Maruti recently launched a beefier version of the Ertiga, named as the XL6. It is a six seater premium MPV which is a modern version of its sibling. It gets revised styling on the outside with an agile LED Projector headlamps with integrated LED Daytime Running Lights. Also, it gets plastic cladding all over the body.
The interiors of this MPV features an all-black theme and replaces the middle bench row with two captain seats. The feature list remains the same as that found in the regular Ertiga. The XL6 is limited to Zeta and Alpha trims only and gets a 5-speed manual and a four speed torque converter unit. Yes, it is available in a sole petrol engine only.
