The updated Maruti Suzuki Eeco comes with several standard safety features which makes it compliant with the new safety regulations.
Maruti Suzuki has updated its people carrier Eeco with new safety features. The replacement for the Maruti Omni will now get all the safety feature required it to meet to new safety regulations.
The list of new safety features added to this vehicle include driver side airbag, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), reverse parking sensors, high-speed alert system along with driver and passenger seat belt warning system.
Apart from all of this, the rest of the specifications of the Maruti Eeco remains the same. The only other change is the addition of a new steering wheel. This has been borrowed from the Alto since the older wheel was not able to accommodate the airbag unit.

The engine specification remain the same as before as well. The Maruti Eeco continues to be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine which is available with a CNG option as well. This engine is capable of churning out 72 BHP of power along with 101 Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Maruti Suzuki Eeco, when driven on petrol, promises a fuel-efficiency figure of 15.37 km/l. While when driven on CNG, the efficiency figure stands at 21.94 km/kg. With this update, the prices of the Eeco are now going to start from INR 3.55 lakh (ex-showroom). It continues to be available in five and seven-seater configuration.

With the help of the addition of these safety features, Maruti Suzuki will continue to sell the Eeco till October 2019. This is when safety regulations pertainign to the structural stenght of the vehicle will come in play.
