The largest carmaker in the country has been celebrating the occasion of the 15th birthday of the commercial van. 12 Lakh Maruti Eeco Vans Sold in 15 Years
As per the official press release from Maruti Suzuki, the van commands a market share of 90%. What is even more impressive is the fact that almost 43% of the overall sales are that of the CNG model. Hence, users are benefitting from the low running costs on offer with the CNG trim of the Eeco. First launched back in 2010, the van has been largely without any worthy rival in our market. It is now available in 13 variants including 5-seater, 7-seater, Cargo, Tour, and Ambulance. It is a clear undisputed multi-purpose van of the nation.

Specs
The Maruti Eeco comes with two engine options with the aim of catering to a wide range of customers with varying needs. This includes a 1.2-litre Advanced K-Series Dual Jet Dual VVT engine that makes a healthy 59.4 kW (80.76 PS) / 105 Nm and this same engine in CNG guise which is good for 52.7 kW (71.65 PS) / 95 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. Both these are on offer with a sole 5-speed manual transmission. Maruti Suzuki claims healthy mileage figures of 20.20 km/l with the petrol and 27.05 km/kg with the CNG. At present, the prices range from Rs 5.32 lakh to Rs 6.58 lakh, ex-showroom.
