New spy shots of the base LXi variant of Maruti S-Presso has been leaked online. The upcoming micro-SUV is slated to be launched on 30th September.
Maruti is going to bring a micro-SUV to India this month, which will squarely go against the Renault Kwid Climber. The upcoming S-Presso has already been spied a couple of times and its uncamouflaged photos have been leaked as well.
Going by the spy shots, the S-Presso gets blacked-out bumpers which go up to the taillights, black door handles, steel wheels without any hub cabs, hand-adjustable ORVMs and blacked-out bumpers as well.
Since it is the base variant, there would be no stoplight on the top and no roof antenna as well. Maruti is going to launch the S-Presso in four variants – STD (LX), LXi, VXi and VXi+, just like the Maruti Alto K10.

If this is actually the LX (STD) variant, it will just come with driver-side airbag, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminder and speed alert system, which is compulsory as per the safety norms. Additionally, it will get a digital speedometer as well.
So, the base variant of Maruti S-Presso misses out on Air-Conditioner and Power Steering as well. These two features along with Internally adjustable ORVMs come on the LXi variant.
The top-spec VXi+ variant comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Voice Recognition, Steering Mounted Audio Controls, Rear Parcel Tray, Charging Socket and Keyless Entry with Central Locking.

Maruti is actually going to place this between the Alto K10 and WagonR, sort of a premium alternative to the former. Even in terms of pricing, it will be cheaper than WagonR, which will, of course, be more premium.
Maruti’s 1.0 Litre petrol engine is going to do the duty on the S-Presso, along with a 5-speed manual gearbox with the option of an AMT gearbox as well. Starting prices are likely to stay in the Rs 3.5-4 Lakhs segment.
