The launch of Maruti S-Presso is just around the corner. Here are all the details that you need to know about the upcoming micro-SUV.
The Maruti S-Presso is another hatchback from the auto major, set to storm the entry-level car market in India. It has now been fully revealed through the TVCs, from the outside as well as the inside.
Basically, Maruti is going to put the S-Presso as a premium alternative to the Alto K10, but not to the WagonR. In pricing, it might be at par with the WagonR, but in terms of features, the latter will get more.
1. ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS
The S-Presso will use a 1.0 Litre 3-cylinder BS-6 compliant petrol engine, that produces 67 BHP and 93 Nm of peak torque. The same engine comes on the Alto K10 and some variants of WagonR. For transmission, it will get a 5-speed manual gearbox and the AGS (AMT) gearbox as an option.
2. VARIANTS
Maruti S-Presso will be available in four main variants – STD, LXi, VXi, VXi+. In Alto series as well, there is no ZXi variant, but in WagonR, you get ZXi. Similarly, the STD variant comes only on Alto and not on the tall-boy. Here is the entire list of its trims:
- STD (O)
- LXi
- LXi (O)
- VXi
- VXi(O)
- VXi+
- VXi AGS
- Vxi (O) AGS
- VXi+ AGS
3. FEATURES
The features onboard will include:
- 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Steering Mounted Audio Controls
- Charging Socket
- Front Power Windows
- Voice Recognition
- Keyless Entry
- Electric Adjustable ORVMs
- Rear Parking Sensors
- Driver Side Airbag
- Seat Belt Reminder
- Digital Speedometer
4. COLOURS
Reports suggest that it is most likely to get the same colour options of the Alto K10, which include Orange, Grey, White, Silver and Fire Red. However, the bumpers and the cladding around the car will be blacked out.
5. DIMENSIONS
Dimensions | S-Presso |

When compared to its square rival, Renault Kwid, it is a bit shorter in terms of length and wheelbase but is slightly wider than the Kwid. Also, the S-Presso is heavier than the Renault Kwid, but lighter than the Alto K10. That’s because it sits on the new Suzuki HEARTECT platform, which is lighter and stronger.
