Maruti Suzuki India has silently launched the Maruti Ritz petrol with automatic transmission model. The Ritz Automatic comes only in petrol automatic VXi AT grade and has the option of ABS with EBD as optional safety feature. The ARAI approved mileage of the Maruti Ritz with 4 speed automatic is 17.16 KMPL with the 1.2 Litre K series petrol engine with VVTI technology. The mileage difference between the Maruti Ritz Automatic and Manual is about 1.34 KMPL which is quite small, but we think that in real world driving conditions, this difference maybe larger.
Maruti Ritz Automatic India Price
The official price of the Ritz automatic is yet to be announced, we expect the price to be Rs. 5.25 Lakhs for Ritz VXi AT and Rs. 5.40 Lakhs for the Ritz VXi AT with ABS option. Maruti Ritz Automatic Features and Specifications
Maruti Ritz automatic is powered by the same 1.2 Litre MPFI petrol engine which powers the petrol manual variants. The engine has VVTI technology for better response and mileage and produces a peak power of around 86 BHP @ 6000 RPM and delivers a mileage of 17.16 KMPL as per ARAI tests.
The transmission is a 4 speed automatic gearbox, which is almost same as used on the Maruti Swift Dzire automatic variant. The car weighs about 20 Kg more than the manual Vxi variant at 1035 Kg. Ritz has a fuel tank capacity of 43 litres and measures 3375 mm in length, 1680 mm in width and 1620 mm in height. The Ritz automatic comes with the new facelifted avatar of the 2012 Maruti Ritz which was launched few months back in Diesel, then later in petrol and not the Automatic.

As per the official website of Maruti Suzuki, the price of Maruti Ritz AT is Rs. 6.15 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. There is a huge price difference between the Vxi Manual Trim and the AT model of about Rs. 1.52 Lakhs which seems a bit ambiguous. It maybe an inaccurate update on the website or maybe the AT price is for the new model while the MT price is for the ongoing petrol (older) model which is why there is a huge price difference. We are yet to hear an official price announcement from Maruti Suzuki on the Petrol models of Ritz, so it will be too early to confirm.
