Ahead of the launch next week, Maruti has revealed the official sketches of the S.Presso. The micro-SUV will go against the likes of Renault Kwid.
Maruti SPresso is the latest kid coming in town, to take on the likes of Renault Kwid. It is actually not built for that thing, but Maruti will position it as a hatchback with high ground clearance and an SUV type feeling.
Btw, Maruti has now revealed the official name of its upcoming model, and its the S.Presso. In the new sketches of the Maruti S.Presso, it now looks quite similar to the Alto and just looks like a more butched up version.
On the front, it gets the grille inspired by the Vitara Brezza. The front indicators are embedded in the beefed-up bumpers. It also gets body claddings over the body and there seems to be a skid plate as well.

The creases on the side are very similar to what found on the new WagonR. The sketches of the Maruti S.Presso do not reveal the tail portion, but going by the spy images, it is similar to the Alto K10. You can say that it is a fusion of some Maruti cars.
Maruti Suzuki says that the S.Presso will garner to the youth of the country and will also “Disrupt the entry car segment”. It will be positioned tightly between the Maruti Alto K10 and the WagonR.
As we know, the S.Presso will come with a 1.0 Litre BS-6 compliant engine, that produces 68 BHP and 91 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed gearbox along with an AMT gearbox will be available, and AMT will come only on the top-spec variants.

Features onboard will include 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Rear Parking Sensors, Speed Alert System, ABS with EBD and Airbags just for the driver.
Also, the S.Presso will be heavier than the Renault Kwid, but ligther than the Alto K10. Since it is built on the Suzuki HEARTECT platform, it is lighter and stronger as well.
