The upcoming new Maruti Brezza will come with a sunroof despite the carmaker earlier having offered reasons not to have it in the past. When the Brezza was due for an update back in Feb 2020, Maruti said that they won’t introduce sunroofs in their products. The company’s Senior Executive Director of the Engineering Department, CV Raman, has cited quite a few reasons why it was not a good idea to offer sunroof on cars in India back in 2019. He mentioned that the climate of the country doesn’t permit the usage of the sunroof as the heat would cause significant pressure on the air conditioning system. More importantly, kids sticking out their necks from sunroof is a major health hazard. Thirdly, it requires extra efforts to service the sunroof with regular cleaning required of the rubber around the sunroof.

New Maruti Brezza To Come With Sunroof
Now, having realised the importance of the growing trend among the customers, Maruti has finally bowed down to the competition and will offer a sunroof in the new Maruti Brezza. The demand from the customers in the past couple of years has overpowered everything and Maruti decides to go with it. It was always open to the idea of offering such features if there is enough demand. The leaked images of the Brezza shows that the compact SUV will feature a modern front end with stylish headlamps with LED DRLs neatly integrated with the chrome front grille, a bull bar inserted into the lower bumper, chunky wheel arches on the sides, sleek LED taillamps at the rears, Brezza moniker at the centre of the boot lid among other things. This version of the Brezza is sufficiently distinct compared to the current-gen model.

The glimpses of the inside also reveal the digital instrument cluster of the SUV. If you look closely this is the automatic variant which is why there are paddle shifters on offer. Other bits include steering mounted controls with Cruise Control. Powering the Brezza will most likely be the same 1.5-litre engine that is on sale at the moment.
