In this age of social media, we get to witness all sorts of off-road challenges between popular cars like this Maruti Jimny vs Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. These two belong to the extreme ends of the spectrum. The Jimny is an affordable hardcore lightweight off-roading SUV. It is available in the 5-door version in India for the first time ever. As a result, people are buying it like hotcakes. On the other hand, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is one of the most popular hard-core off-roaders on the planet. It is interesting to witness how these two stack up against each other in a real-life adventure.

Jimny vs Wrangler Off-Road Challenge
This video comes from Small Town Rider on YouTube. It captures the YouTuber along with dozens of SUV owners. They often go on off-roading adventures to test the capabilities of their vehicles. This time around, they visit a location which has a riverbed. There are numerous Mahindra Thar SUVs, Maruti Jimny, Toyota Fortuner as well as Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The vlogger shows all the SUVs crossing the river one by one and driving on the sand to reach the other side. All the Thars are able to do this quite well. In the end, we see the Jimny, the Wrangler and the Fortuner completing the task with ease.

There were occasions when some Mahindra Thar SUVs got stuck. However, this can be attributed to the skills of the driver rather than the capabilities of the vehicle itself. In order to get across the river with some momentum, the driver must accelerate from the very beginning. But some drivers were reluctant to do that because of the fear of the invisible riverbed. But in a few attempts, they were all able to eventually cross the river and climb up to the other side. While this may not be a hard-core off-road challenge, all these SUVs performed quite imposingly. The Jimny and the Wrangler were particularly impressive because of the sheer ease with which they were able to complete the task.

What We Think
It might be a lot of fun performing such activities. But we don’t recommend this to any of our readers. The simple reason for that is the fact that one can’t truly calculate the kind of damage that a vehicle can sustain in such environments. It is also possible that the car could experience permanent damage to some components which might be super expensive to repair or replace. Therefore, we suggest that our readers simply watch such YouTubers for entertainment purposes and never try to mimic them.
