Maruti Jimny 5-door that was launched in India is the 4th-gen model and the Gypsy is the 2nd-gen model of the iconic lightweight off-roader.
Here is an exciting tug of war between a Maruti Jimny and a Gypsy. Jimny is the latest entrant in the India market. It comes in a 5-door guise for the first time ever anywhere in the world. The reason is quite simple. Indian buyers prefer practicality over form. The 3-door variant is sold in the international market is highly impractical. Hence, India got the 5-door version which is why we had to wait for the Jimny for so long. On the other hand, Gypsy is widely considered one of the best off-roading SUVs ever created. Its hardcore nature and 4×4 capabilities allow it to traverse across any terrain. Here is what happens when these two perform a tug of war.

Jimny vs Gypsy Tug of War
The video has been uploaded by Aayush ssm on YouTube. It captures a tug-of-war competition between the two SUVs. For the uninitiated, tug of war happens when the two cars are tied together using a rope and both pull in opposite directions. The one that is able to pull the other is declared the winner. In the first round, the cars are in a 4×2 configuration. On the count of three, both the drivers press accelerator. However, it is the Gypsy that is able to pull the Jimny. For the subsequent rounds, the cars are in 4×4 mode but the result remains the same. The Gypsy emerged as the undisputed winner.

What We Think
While the tug of war is a common practice that a lot of YouTubers follow these days to determine which car is more powerful, we would like to mention that it is not the ideal way to judge the true capabilities of vehicles. In fact, cases like these could potentially harm the vehicles in the long run. The mechanicals of the car could take a huge impact because of such activities. In fact, in this video, there was smoke coming out of both cars. While it could be just from the tyres, it could also be from the engine. Hence, we would like to suggest that one must never attempt such stupid acts if you love your car.
