Maruti Jimny to Mercedes G-Wagon Conversion
This post has been shared by vm_customs on Instagram. It showcases an impressively modified Jimny that is made to look like the iconic G-Wagon. The G-Wagon kit includes 18-inch Ad wheels with tyres, a custom red and black interior with genuine leather seats and Cardi K4 ambient lighting. Once this kit is installed on the SUV, one could barely tell the difference at first glance. The front profile has that typical broad grille with big round LED headlamps and a chunky bumper with large air dams on either side. There are typical turn indicators mounted on the extreme edges of the bonnet.

The side profile is particularly accentuated by the chunky wheel arches that extend out of the width of the SUV. The wheels are painted black with red brake callipers offering a sporty and rugged appearance. At the rear, the LED tail lamps are horizontally mounted on the extreme edges of the bumper, the spare wheel is neatly positioned on the bootlid and the overall upright stance is reminiscent of the legendary G-Wagon. All in all, if you take a look at this uniquely modified SUV on the road, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference in terms of exterior elements. The only giveaway is the significantly smaller overall size.

What We Think
We appreciate people’s passion to get their vehicles modified in a bid to make them look unique. However, it must be understood that most car modifications are illegal in India. As a result, you might be harassed by the police regarding the same. That is why we recommend viewers and readers to not get involved in such extensive and comprehensive modifications. Furthermore, if you wish to make some customisations, you should first consult your local RTO. The staff will tell you which modifications are prohibited. If these customisations are allowed, you could get them edited in the registration certificate of your vehicle. Then you won’t have any issues with the cops.
