This pickup format of the Maruti Jimny looks promising and utilitarian. The Jimny has a history that goes back more than fifty years. In India, we first met this iconic vehicle when its second-generation model, the Gypsy, hit the scene. The Gypsy holds a special place in the hearts of off-road fans even today. Now, Maruti Suzuki brings us the fourth-generation Jimny, and what’s exciting is that it’s available in a practical five-door version for the first time ever. For now, let us delve into the specifics of this digital rendering.

This post comes from octane9tfive on Instagram. There are plenty of things to like about this virtual illustration. Starting from the front, there are round headlamps with LED DRLs integrated into the cluster, a black grille, sturdy bumper with a rugged skid plate, fog lamps and an upright bonnet. On the sides, there are chunky wheel arches which contain colossal alloy wheels. There are also practical side steps which enhance ingress and egress characteristics for the passengers.

Interestingly, it has a single cab setup with a cargo compartment at the rear to complete the pickup truck concept. The tiny roof rail on the cabin looks solid too. In one of the images, the alloy wheels bear a blue colour for the spokes and the SUV also gets a hood scoop. All in all, the pickup version of the Maruti Jimny certainly looks practical. But we don’t think we will ever see it in production.
