At the Auto Expo, Maruti announced that the Ignis and the Baleno RS will arrive in showrooms during the 2016 festive season. However, both launches fell behind schedule. A major reason for that was the high demand for other Maruti products such as the Baleno and Brezza. Maruti delayed the launch in order to give themselves enough time to clear some of the backlog.

Maruti Ignis Design Review
The Suzuki Ignis was first unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It is among the newest of Suzuki’s ideas for the compact SUV and crossover segments. The Ignis previews the manufacturer’s upcoming compact 4×4 and the car’s design boasts uniqueness and Suzuki’s DNA. The car’s theme is “Shape the Inspiration”. Basically, the upcoming Maruti Ignis is a highly personal vehicle that opens gates to new possibilities to have fun. In words of Suzuki, the Ignis is “intelligent but tough, offering reliable performance rooted in the Suzuki 4×4 tradition coupled with the latest fuel-saving technology. The minimalist design blends perfectly into the driver’s lifestyle, while its distinctive character brings real inspiration to the daily routine.”
The Ignis has a high ground clearance and a high hip point. This will ensure that this car is easy to drive in tough road conditions. On the inside, it has a user-friendly interior and a large luggage area. The car’s minimalist body boasts plain surfaces and a round-ish roof, with straight lines that make the design more attractive. The large wheels, pushed to the corners of the vehicle, go on to hint at this SUV’s muscular performance and give it a dynamic stance. Then there are some more dramatic design features such as the ‘sunglass-clad’ look of the front fascia, helmet-like roof and the vents on the C Pillar, which are inspired by older models from Suzuki.
