All the hurdles in this challenge include steep hill climbing. One comes with a turn at the bottom itself but with highly uneven roads. Then there’s one with a turn just towards the end of the climb and the last one is a simple climb. FYI, the list includes Scorpio AWD, Duster AWD, first-gen Endeavour and all versions of the Fortuner.
The first hurdle is cleared by most of the biggies except Renault Duster, Maruti Gypsy and Mahindra Scorpio, which take their own time. In the second one, Gypsy and Scorpio clear the hurdle easily, however, Isuzu D-Max and Pajero complete it on the second take. In these hurdles, its just not about power but also about the technique and skills.
Towards the last hurdle, most of them clear it in the first try itself. To be noted that Gypsy is the only one without any off-roading feature. Pajero, Fortuner, Endeavour and Isuzu D-Max, all get sophisticated 4WD system. What came as a shock was the first gen Endeavour clearing all these challenges without any difficulty.
