Toyota is planning to launch a new car under the ‘Urban Cruiser’ branding in India. Slated to be known as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, the new model will rival the likes of Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. The company introduced a Maruti Vitara Brezza-based version in 2020. However, it was discontinued in 2022. Meanwhile, the Brezza received a generation change. Later, Toyota came up with the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Now, the Japanese brand is planning to introduce a new model in the sub-4-metre SUV category. There are good chances it will be a derivative of the Maruti Fronx.

On the inside, the upcoming car is likely to come with a new dual-tone interior theme. There will be a Toyota badge on the steering wheel boss.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor will become the most affordable model in Toyota’s portfolio. It’s noteworthy that there’s been a burgeoning demand for sub-4-metre SUVs. With the B-SUV segment brimming with many offerings, carmakers are now focussing on ‘Micro-SUV’ segment with hatchback-based models. The latest entrant has been the Hyundai Exter. The Urban Cruiser Taisor is likely to be Toyota’s champion in the ring. The launch should take place during the festive season.
