In a latest incident, a Maruti Fronx rolls over twice before hitting the median. Fronx is a crossover vehicle which is based on the Baleno premium hatchback. Maruti Suzuki cars are not known for high safety ratings at the Global NCAP. However, it has worked a fair bit to make its latest cars stronger. In fact, the recently launched fourth-generation Swift now comes with 6 airbags as standard across the range. It should ensure that the vehicle is able to score decent ratings at the NCAP. For now, let us take a look at the details of this latest case here.
Maruti Fronx Rolls Over Twice
This video comes from Nikhil Rana on YouTube. It captures the details of the latest crashes to see how well a car performed during unfortunate circumstances. As per the information on this occasion, this case has emerged from NH7 near Varlakonda, Chikkaballpur distt. in Karnataka. A truck carrying stones hit the Fronx from behind. The impact was quite strong and the vehicle toppled over twice. Finally, it came to a halt only after hitting the divider. In fact, the visuals capture the car on its roof in the middle of the road.
The damage to its body is unclear since the vehicle is still upside down. Perhaps, the visuals in the video were taken almost immediately after the crash. The authorities had not arrived at the location yet. However, what I find the most interesting is the fact that no one was hurt in this case. That is quite surprising considering the severity of the accident. While the official safety ratings of the Maruti Fronx elude us at the moment, we can expect a decent score once it is tested by Bharat NCAP. That will take its popularity to the next level among the masses.
Our View
I must mention here that we can’t draw any conclusions based on isolated incidents like this one. Still, it is heartening to see a popular Maruti Suzuki car performing decently well in real-life incidents. The latest vehicles from Maruti Suzuki look like they are a bit stronger in comparison to the Maruti cars from years ago. Also, in order to compensate for the image Maruti cars had, the largest carmaker in the country is offering more safety features as standard in the latest cars. Let us see how these translate into once these cars undergo NCAP test.
