We keep witnessing high-speed accidents on a daily basis which is why we need to ensure that we drive within the speed limits
This latest crash of the Maruti Fronx at high speed highlights the importance of safe driving. Modern cars come with tons of safety equipment. However, there is just no substitute for safe driving. Fronx is based on the Baleno, which, in turn, sits on Maruti’s HEARTECT platform. We know that the image of Maruti Suzuki is not great when it comes to the safety ratings of its products. Still, it has worked hard to change that with its new vehicles. Fronx is a great example of that. It has performed reasonably well in real-life terrible incidents. For now, let us delve into the details of this latest case.
Maruti Fronx in Major Crash
The details of this post emerge from Nikhil Rana on YouTube. This channel features content around road safety and performances of cars in horrendous situations. This time around, a case has emerged from the Bhubaneshwar-Chennai NH16. As per the details in the video, the Fronx was being driven at around 100 km/h on the highway. Suddenly, for some reason, it collided with a trailer from the side. As a result, the vehicle is seen on the side of the road. The damage to the car is apparent.
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in this crash. Looking at the damage, the front section of the Fronx is severely affected. The bumper, grille, bonnet, fender, headlamp and tyres have sustained damage. It clearly looks like a high-speed accident. However, the airbags of the car were deployed as expected and the damage inside the cabin was restricted. Also, the side pillars were intact which prevented any serious injuries to the 3 occupants. That is a great result and demonstrates the strength of the Fronx.
My View
Overspeeding is one of the major causes of road accidents in India. People flout traffic regulations left and right. Consequently, we lose lakhs of lives on our roads each year. It is high time we start following the traffic protocols vehemently so that such situations can be avoided or at least, the damage is minimized. That is the only way to safeguard our roads. Let us pledge to be responsible drivers and encourage everyone around us to stick to the rules. If you find anyone disregarding the regulations and endangering the lives of others, make sure to report them to the authorities so that appropriate action can be taken against them.
