- Maruti Fronx was showcased at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2023.
- It is an SUV crossover based on the Baleno premium hatchback.
- It comes with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine.
The GNCAP safety rating of the Maruti Fronx has not been awarded yet but Maruti claims that it complies with all the testing norms. Maruti has been infamous for making products that are not capable of achieving high safety ratings at the GNCAP. This has been proven by the abysmal performances of many of its products. But people these days are becoming more and more conscious about the safety ratings before buying a car. Considering this, Maruti has worked on its newer products which leads us to believe that the Fronx might boast a healthy safety rating too.

In addition to that, the Maruti Fronx is quite heavy in comparison to the Baleno which could also mean that it has worked on making the SUV safe and rugged. While we will still need to wait for the official GNCAP crash tests to determine the actual rating of the Fronx, it looks likely that the Fronx would bring a decent rating there as well. If it manages to do that, Maruti will have a real all-rounder on its hands.
