Maruti Suzuki Indian Limited (MSIL) has set the ball rolling at the Auto Expo 2023 with its eVX EV concept. Displaying its plans for electric mobility in India, Maruti introduces their first EV concept. It has been designed from the ground up by the Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan and will be a mid-size electric SUV in our market with a length of 4,300 mm. This is a part of Suzuki’s investment of Rs 100 billion for the production of BEVs and batteries in India.

Maruti eVX EV Concept – Specs
The eVX concept comes powered by a substantial 60 kWh battery pack that will enable a decent driving range of 550 km on a single charge. The battery pack comes with safe battery technology to enhance safety. Based on a dedicated all-electric platform, it will pave the way for the upcoming Maruti EVs in our market. More details on the specs are not available at the moment.

Dimensions and Design
Being a mid-size electric SUV, the eVX measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height. This puts it in the league of the upcoming Mahindra XUV400 in our market which is just over 4.2 m long. In terms of exterior styling, the EV looks quite rugged with a muscular stance, sleek LED DRLs and headlamps, a rugged skid plate, a closed front grille section, sharp curves on the side, aerodynamically efficient alloy wheels, side body cladding and more.

At the rear, the roof-mounted spoiler looks neat and the highlight is the connected LED taillamp cluster. There is the Suzuki logo in the middle of the boot lid underneath which sits a black bumper protected by a sturdy skid plate. Overall, the silhouette is quite imposing and people are likely to love the ruggedness. Let us see how much of this makes it to the production version.
