Most of the buyers who wish to own a big car and cannot afford a luxury SUV, go for an MPV. Talking about some interesting MPV’s we have Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova as the top contenders. Recently Maruti has launched the much awaited Maruti Ertiga which may not be a hardcore MPV but is surely a tough competitor. Named as LUV or lifestyle utility vehicle, it is appreciably cheaper than a full fledged MPV which is the reason why we are here to compare it with the Xylo. In this article, on our continuation in our car comparison series, we will compare in details the two promising vehicles – Maruti Ertiga Vs Mahindra Xylo.

Exteriors Comparison of Maruti Ertiga Vs Mahindra Xylo 2012
Maruti Ertiga is based on the platform of 2011 Maruti Swift but the same has been elongated to fit the body dimensions of Ertiga. From the front it resembles Maruti Ritz and Swift to an extent while from the sides and rear its an all new car. Looks wise the car is refreshing and different and has its own road presence.
The Xylo is a popular car and the facelifted model is even more popular now. The face gets remarkable improvements and it looks very upmarket now. The masculine character of the car is reflected across the length and breadth of car and there is now way it will go unnoticed.

The Xylo is elegantly built but is and the finish is really upmarket. The central console, steering wheel and the rest of the dashboard everything feels good but it is not sporty at all. The design is less interesting than the Ertiga. Features include Sleek chrome accent, Clear lens two-tone tail lamps, Dual SRS Airbags for Safety, Cruise Control for convenience, Steering Mounted Audio Controls, Dual Zone Air Conditioning, Voice Recognition control for controlling head lamps, wipers, fuel lid, door locks etc. Other features are Italian leather seats trim, Dual tone dashboard styling, New Door trims, Wood Inserts in the central console, Improved suspension tuning for better ride and handling characteristic etc.
