Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is about to see a sportier, 6-seater MPV, called Ertiga Cross. It will launch on August 21, 2019.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga sales for the month of June 2019 stood out at 7,567 units beating its rivals by a good margin. It competes with Mahindra Marazzo, whose sales numbers were limited to 1,206 and segment leader Innova Crysta sales sttod at 4,814 units.
Not only this, the new model of Maruti Ertiga was the key reason that the MPV rose to 76% from 2018 June sales. Maruti Ertiga now comes with loaded features, sits on Heartect platform and follows a new design language which is far ahead than its predecessor.
Right from the beginning of 2019, Ertiga was topping the list by selling 9,352 units for the month of January followed by 8,000 average units on a monthly basis. Recently, the Ertiga M tour was launched; which is specific to the taxi fleet. Next on the line is Ertiga Cross which will be the costliest in its lineup.

One interesting thing which is observed over the years is that both the petrol and diesel engine of the Ertiga sell equally or with a slight margin. Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold about 65,263 units of Ertiga in FY2018-19 and out of this, 32,938 accounted for diesel sales and 32,325 units for the petrol engine.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is available in three engine options and three transmissions. A 1.3-litre DDiS smart hybrid diesel engine churning out 89 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque. The bigger 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 94 bhp and 225 Nm of torque. The latter is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission while the smart hybrid comes with a 5-speed MT gearbox.

Maruti Ertiga 1.2-litre VVT petrol motor generates 103 bhp with a peak torque of 138 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter unit. ARAI claimed efficiency stands out at 19.35 kmpl for the manual while that of automatic is 18.70 kmpl.
