The crossover based on the Maruti Ertiga is going to get the new 1.5-litre diesel engine along with some minor aesthetic updates to make it look rugged.
The second generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga made its debut in India last year during the month of November. So far, the response from Maruti’s customers for the Ertiga has been quite positive. The demand is increasing and hence has resulted in a significant waiting period for each new order.

Even before the time of the launch of the New Ertiga, there have been speculations regarding the Japanese automaker working on a crossover iteration of this budget MPV. A recently published report in Autocar India states that this is actually true and that Suzuki is expected to debut the Ertiga crossover by the end of this year itself.
The following speculation is being made on the basis of a recently leaked patent image. It can be clearly seen in the image that the vehicle in question is the Maruti Ertiga but adorns a muscular kit along with some faux skid plates.

Though the exact details regarding all the modifications of the crossover iteration of the Maruti Ertiga are still under the wraps, we can make a safe assumption that it is going to come with a slightly rugged exterior profile and an interior kit to match with.
For instance, expect it to feature redesigned front and rear bumpers along with a new set of alloy wheels and plastic cladding along the wheel arches to give it that rugged look. On the inside, the Ertiga crossover is likely to lose the dual-tone colour scheme for a rugged black with silver panels. Similarly, the upholstery is likely to be primarily draped in black.

The engine specifications of the Maruti Ertiga crossover are expected to remain the same as that of the standard Ertiga. It will continue with the new 1.5-litre, K15B petrol engine. The diesel derivative is likely to be the 1.5-litre oil-burner which has been developed in-house by Maruti Suzuki.
It is likely that the Maruti Ertiga crossover is going to retail as a single variant. Prices could fall in-between the territory of INR 9 lakh to INR 10 Lakh (ex-showroom).
