Maruti Ertiga Cross will get more muscle than the regular MPV and it will compete with the liked of Mahindra Marazzo and Renault Lodgy.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross is based on the normal Ertiga MPV but will carry a 6-seat layout and will look more sporty when it sees its launch in August 2019. According to some sources, by S-Presso; a micro SUV can also be launched this year. It will compete with Renault Kwid, Tata Tiago and Datsun GO.
Due to the low sales of vehicles, every car manufacturer is suffering losses and to overcome this, they are bringing in new models or facelift to the on-going variants which help in boosting the sale. Similar strategy Maruti is applying for Eritga. Adding some muscle to the car and revamping some exteriors and interior design to give it a fresh new look.
Earlier spy shots gave us a glimpse of the front fascia which has been completely redesigned. The nose is more upright with a raised bonnet and up front, it sports a larger grille. The bumper is being redesigned and get larger air intakes and so is the headlamps which now comes with LED DRLs with a chrome band in between.

Maruti Ertiga side profile sees body cladding all over and roof rails. The noticeable change is a raised height indicating an increase in ground clearance. Moving onto the rear profile, it gets restyled tail lights and bumper to give a rugged look to the MPV. New colour options are also expected with the launch of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross.
At the sides, the Ertiga Cross gets some more body claddings and also roof rails. At the rear, the tail lamps have been tweaked slightly and the bumpers also look more aggressive to give it a rugged stance. The Ertiga Cross could also get new colour options as well.
Upon its launch, expect the Ertiga Cross to get an all-black theme for interiors. The availability of captain seats on the second row will free up more space on the inside. On the features, the car could get auto headlamps, sunroof, cruise control and a better surround entertainment system.

The upcoming MPV will get a 1.5-litre four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor which will churn out 105 bhp with 138 Nm of peak torque. It will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a four-speed torque converter gearbox. A BS-VI compliance engine will be offered.
Since the Cross Ertiga will carry some premium features, and we expect it will sit a little over Rs 40,000 than its regular trims. The MPV will be sold through Nexa outlets and the car competes with the likes of Mahindra Marazzo and Renault Lodgy.
