YouTubers like to drag race popular cars to determine which car has a better performance in real-world conditions.
A popular Indian vlogger on YouTube conducts a drag race competition between the last-gen Tata Harrier and Maruti Ertiga CNG. Now, one might think that this is an unfair competition simply because the diesel powertrain is much more powerful than the CNG mill. However, there are distinct reasons for this event. Harrier is more powerful but its weight counters its performance. That will make the real-world performance of both these vehicles comparable. Let us check out the result.

Tata Harrier vs Maruti Ertiga Drag Race
The video has been uploaded by It’s Me Ahlawat on his YouTube channel. The team uses the last-gen Harrier with manual transmission. On the other hand, the Ertiga comes with a factory-fitted CNG kit. For the first attempt, they decide to keep the Harrier in City mode and keep the A/Cs in both cars ON. Both vehicles had 2 persons each. As soon as the race began, both cars stayed almost neck-to-neck. However, just toward the end of the race, the Harrier managed to go past the Ertiga.

For the subsequent round, the vehicles had their A/Cs OFF. Surprisingly, this time around, the Ertiga managed to decimate the Harrier with conviction. This came as shock to everyone. Note that the Ertiga was being driven in petrol mode. In the next round, the Harrier was put in Sport mode. The Ertiga gave a tough fight but the SUV managed to slip ahead. After swapping the drivers and putting the Ertiga in the CNG mode, the competition was stiff but the Harrier barely managed to win. Nevertheless, it was the Ertiga that gained everyone’s respect.
