Maruti Suzuki Ertiiga CNG does not get the SHVS mild hybrid system which comes with the 1.5-litre petrol motor.
While Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the six-seater XL6, a premium MPV, the manufacturer have launched the 7-seater Ertiga CNG. It is priced at Rs 8.88 lakh and the Tour M which is also known as the taxi trim starts at Rs 8.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Maruti Ertiga CNG is based on the VXI trim which provides features like rear AC vents, 12V charger, black and beige interiors, front and rear power windows, projector headlamps, LED taillights and among others. Other highlights like integrated in-dash music system with four speakers, AUX and Bluetooth compatibility, steering mounted controls are also on board.
Safety features include rear parking sensors, dual-front airbags, child seat anchor points, seat belt reminder, high-speed alert system, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Remote central locking and speed sensing door lock. The Tour M also gets a speed limiter fixed at 80km/h for further safety assistance.

The Ertiga CNG is about Rs 71,000 expensive and the Tour M costs around Rs 66,000 more when compared to the VXI trim. It carries a company fitted 10.86 kg CNG cylinder which returns a fuel economy by 26.2 km/kg claimed by ARAI.
The Ertiiga CNG is powered by the 1.5-litre petrol engine which produces 105 bhp and 138 Nm of peak torque. The power figures drop to 92 bhp with 122 Nm torque and it doesn’t even carry the smart hybrid system engine option when compared to petrol Ertiga.

Maruti Suzuki is also bringing a 6-seat XL6 which is based on the Ertiga only. Recent spy shots reveal that the car gets revised front styling with honeycomb grille, restyled headlamps and now gets integrated LED DRLs within. Interiors will see an all-black theme and under the hood, it is expected to receive a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre petrol engine. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed torque converter unit.
