Maruti Ertiga BS-6 petrol model has reportedly been spotted testing. It is expected to launch very soon, as Maruti has already started rolling out BS-6 models.
Maruti Suzuki has already launched the BS-6 versions of Baleno and Alto 800 in India. Other models will be following the queue soon, but only in their petrol versions.
Gaadiwaadi has leaked a spy shot of Maruti Ertiga with a BS-6 engine, reportedly. It can be seen with Suzuki’s mild-hybrid SHVS branding, confirming that it is indeed a petrol model.
Ertiga BS-6 model will not get any changes to the power and torque figures. Neither there will be any exterior, interior or feature changes onboard. Although, the prices will be increased.

Maruti Ertiga will continue with the newly launched 1.5 Litre petrol engine, that produces 104 BHP at 6000 RPM and 138 Nm of torque at 4400 RPM. It recently got the new 1.5 Litre DDiS 225 diesel engine too, which chugs out 95 BHP at 4000 RPM and 225 Nm of torque.
The petrol engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox with the option of a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The diesel engine uses a 6-speed MT and no AT/AMT.
The petrol Ertiga claims to offer a mileage of 19.34 kmpl and the diesel variant offers 18.69 kmpl. When the BS-6 engines come, the mileage will decrease by nearly 10%.
As you may know, Maruti is going to discontinue all of its diesel engines soon. The list includes a 1.3 Litre DDiS and a new 1.5 Litre DDiS. The former is a very old engine and currently powers almost every Maruti car.

The cost of upgradation of diesel engines to BS-6 compliance is too high. That’s the main reason for discontinuation of the diesel motors. However, the newly developed 1.5 Litre unit will be upgraded to BS-6, but sometime later.
Maruti Ertiga Petrol is priced starting from Rs 7.44 Lakhs to Rs 9.95 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The prices will be hiked by nearly Rs 30,000-40,000.
