The much-awaited electric SUV from Maruti Suzuki has finally been introduced in our market
The first EV from the Japanese car marque, the Maruti e Vitara, has finally been unveiled at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. It is the first EV from the Suzuki globally. Note that it has already been showcased in many international markets. However, the production is set to commence at Maruti’s Gujarat plant. In our market, it will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6 and more. Maruti Suzuki announced Smart home charger, fast charging support in top 100 cities in phase 1 (charger at every 5-10 km), over 1,500 EV workshops in 1,000+ cities and mobile app to locate nearby charging station to get real-time data. Maruti e Vitara Revealed at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025
The exterior styling incorporates a rugged appearance. The front fascia boasts striking LED lighting with LED DRLs, a chunky bumper, fog lamps on the lower grille section and a sturdy overall layout. Furthermore, the side section contains large 18-inch aero-designed alloy wheels with colossal and imposing wheel arches with tough cladding on them and on the door panels, black side pillars and C-pillar-mounted rear door handles. Finally, the rear section consists of a roof-mounted spoiler, connected LED taillamps via a light console, and a sporty bumper. In essence, the styling is geared more towards the adventurous side.

The Maruti e Vitara is available with two battery pack options – a 49 kWh or a 61 kWh. It utilizes the new HEARTECT-e platform with eAxle (3-in1 unit including inverter, motor and transmission). There are single-motor 2WD and dual-motor AWD configurations on offer. The power and torque figures range from 142 hp / 189 Nm to 172 hp / 189 Nm and 181 hp / 300 Nm (AWD), respectively. In the AWD version, the e Vitara uses Suzuki’s trademark ALLGRIP-e technology by distributing torque where it is needed the most. The ground clearance is a healthy 180 mm which is enough to glide over most obstacles. Also, the electric SUV weighs between 1,702 kg and 1,899 kg. Maruti claims a range of over 500 km on a single charge.
