Maruti Ciaz is a mid-size sedan which rivals the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, VW Virtus and Skoda Slavia in India
In this post, we are taking a look at the details of the Maruti Ciaz owner who completed a cool 7 lakh km in his sedan. Ciaz is one product which the largest carmaker in the country has not updated for a long time. However, it continues to manufacture and sell it. In fact, even though it might not be as popular in India as most of Maruti’s other cars, it is quite successful in international markets. Still, let us take a look at the details of this latest case.
Maruti Ciaz Completes 7 Lakh Km
The specifics of this case stem from the #ClubCiaz Maruti Suzuki Ciaz owners page on Facebook. A certain Kanwalpreet Singh Benipal shared his images with the Ciaz along with the caption which reads, “Completed 7 lakh Kilometres.Best ever sedan in this segment. My ciaz 2015 model disel manual.Got converted to facelift.” The images showcase the owner with his slightly modified sedan. In fact, he mentions that in order to make it look modern, he has converted it into the current model. Note that he had the 2015 model with a diesel engine. However, this version was updated back in 2018. He has been able to clock 7 lakh km within 9 years of ownership.
This is a clear indication that he commutes in his vehicle regularly. Furthermore, that could be the reason he opted for the diesel trim to begin with. Remember, Maruti Suzuki stopped producing diesel engines in 2019 altogether. Hence, there has been no model of any car in diesel trim since then. That makes this Ciaz even more special. This diesel mill is a 1,248-cc unit which churns out a decent 90 PS and 200 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine pairs with a 5-speed manual transmission. At the time, the prices ranged from Rs 7.24 lakh to Rs 10.52 lakh, ex-showroom.
My View
Clocking such incredible numbers on cars is not a mean feat. It requires skills and great driving discipline to make cars last that long. Needless to say, the engine components and reliability are the most important factors. Therefore, credit must also be given to Maruti Suzuki to create such a durable engine. I am certain that there would’ve been a lot of repair and servicing work all this while. Still, the vehicle looks in great condition and the owner still uses it. Hence, that is a testament to the quality of engineering and components of this vehicle.
