Maruti Celerio Tour H2 is based on facelift version that came out earlier this year
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL), the largest selling carmaker in India, has come up with a new taxi-only variant of the Celerio hatchback. Dubbed as the Maruti Celerio Tour H2, the new variant has gone on sale at a price of roughly Rs 4.21 lakh. The Tour H2 is based on the facelifted Celerio that was launched in October last year. In terms of price positioning, the Celerio Tour H2 finds itself slotted between the Celerio LXi and the Celerio LXi (O).

On sale at an ex-showroom price of Rs 4,20,693, the new taxi model of the Celerio is cheaper than the LXi(O) variant by Rs 13,000. As can be seen in the images we have here, the new Maruti Celerio Tour H2 misses out on the chrome garnish on the front grille. It also misses out on bits like fog lamps, body-coloured outside rearview mirrors and alloy wheels. Moreover, the steel wheels don’t even get wheel caps. However, the new taxi model of the Celerio gets a driver-side airbag as a standard fitment.
Powering the Maruti Celerio Tour H2 is the same K10 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that powers regular variant. This engine outputs a maximum power of 68 PS along with a peak torque of 90 Nm. The motor comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission that sends power to the front wheels. There is no AMT option for the Tour H2. The fuel mileage of this car is rated at a very respectable 23.10 kmpl. Currently, even the CNG option is not available on the Tour H2, but Maruti might launch it at a later stage. In compliance with new norms for commercial vehicles, the taxi variant of the Celerio has a limited top speed of 80 kmph.
