Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon are two of the most popular compact SUVs in the country. Both of them have been selling like hotcakes. On one hand, the Brezza benefits from being a part of the largest carmaker in the country. It offers a dense sales and service network which offers peace of mind to the owners. On the other hand, the Nexon came into the limelight a few years ago when it became the first Indian vehicle to score a full 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP back in 2018. In its latest avatar, it is more desirable than ever with a futuristic exterior styling, as well as the availability of the latest tech, connectivity and convenience features.

Maruti Brezza Outsells Tata Nexon
As per the official data, for the calendar year of 2023, Maruti Suzuki was able to sell 1,70,588 units of the Brezza. In the same time period, Tata Motors sold 1,70,311 units of the Nexon. As you can see, there difference between the two is marginal. What is interesting is the fact that these are the 4th and 5th highest-selling vehicles in the country in 2023 on the overall sales chart. That speaks volumes about the popularity of these two compact SUVs. For reference, Hyundai sold 1,29,278 units of the Venue during the same time frame. Note that Venue is also another prominent rival to the Brezza and Nexon.

Top 5 Highest-Selling Cars in CY2023
We already mentioned that the Brezza and Nexon stand at 4th and 5th positions, respectively on the list of the highest-selling cars last year. But the Maruti Swift topped this list with a whopping 2,03,469 units sold. The second and third spots were occupied by the WagonR and Baleno with 2,01,301 and 1,93,989 units, respectively. This showcases the sheer dominance of Maruti Suzuki on the sales charts for the Indian automobile market. Hyundai Creta and Tata Punch took 7th and 8th spot with 1,57,311 and 1,50,182 units, respectively.
