While Maruti has slashed the prices of its other models by nearly Rs 5,000, the Baleno RS sees a massive price cut of Rs 1 Lakh on its ex-showroom price.
Maruti Baleno RS was launched in 2017, which came with a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine. It was basically the top-spec variant and came with minor cosmetic changes.
Team-BHP reports that the Maruti Baleno RS is now Rs 1 Lakh cheaper than its actual price of Rs 8.76 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Alongside, Maruti has also cut the prices of a couple of its models, courtesy of the reduction in corporate tax.
The price of Maruti Baleno RS is almost near to the Alpha Automatic Petrol, which is the top-spec trim. The RS came with differences like a new sportier bumper set, larger air dams, side skirts, diamond-cut alloys and RS branding over the car.

The 1.0 Litre engine on the RS produced 100 BHP and 150 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. With the turbo kicking in and more power, it was offered for those who wanted a performance car, but in the budget.
Reports also suggest that Maruti might be discontinuing the Baleno RS in India, post-BS-6 norms. Being an enthusiast car, it does not garner high sale figures for the manufacturer.
Maruti recently launched the BS-6 Baleno with the 1.2 Litre petrol engine, along with the option of the SHVS mild-hybrid system. The diesel variants of Baleno are still sold, but will be discontinued soon post April 2020.
