It is simply mind-boggling to see the kind of customizations people perform on their cars
In a rather unbelievable turn of events, someone has created a Maruti Alto pickup from his/her regular car. India is home to some of the most excessive car modifications in the world. This has been particularly true in the last few years. Depending on the need, people modify cars so extensively that the entire demeanour is altered. This is one such case where a man has transformed a budget compact hatchback into a pickup truck, well almost. Let us delve into the specifics of this case here.
Maruti Alto Pickup
This post stems from carreelsindia on Instagram. The visuals capture an unfathomable incident. The registration plate says that this car belongs to somewhere in Kharar, Punjab. While everything seems normal from the front, things change quickly once we get the side view. Things get unexpected beyond the B-pillars. The entire rear section has been removed including the seats, roof and body. Instead, there is a huge cargo compartment just like you would find on pickup trucks.
In the later part of the video, we even see this unique contraption in action. The owner is driving it on the road in this configuration. I must admit it is unlike anything else I have seen all week. Interestingly, the tail section doesn’t have any boot lid but a simple door which closes the cargo bed. Also, the original taillamps have been retained for some reason. Overall, this has to be among the weirdest car modifications you’ll see of the Maruti Alto.
My View
People come up with all sorts of strange alterations to their cars for no reason at all. They love to own unique cars. However, I must mention that such customizations are only possible if you are using the car in remote corners of the country. That is because most car modifications are illegal in India. If the traffic Police catch you, they will slap a hefty fine and even ask you to remove the mods, if possible. Let us enjoy these only for entertainment purposes. Ideally, I would advise our readers to stay away from such activities in their personal cars.
