In a strange case of fanboyism, a Mahindra Scorpio Classic lover installed a water tank in the shape of the SUV on his house’s roof. That is a rather weird obsession with the iconic SUV. Scorpio is a mega-popular car from Mahindra in India. It has been around since 2002. In over 22 years of existence, the demand for the SUV has only gone up. In fact, to cater to a wider range of audience, Mahindra sells the Scorpio in two avatars today – Classic and N. The former is a representation of the original hardcore SUV, while the latter boasts some latest tech, connectivity, convenience and safety amenities.

This post arrives from autojournal_india on Instagram. As per the information in this post, this incident occurred in Bihar. It even mentions that the Indian auto giant derives a huge chunk of its sales from the state of Bihar. Hence, the love people have for this legendary SUV in this state is quite extraordinary. Commemorating that, a man has created the silhouette of the SUV as water storage tank on the top of his home. In fact, it looks like the construction is still underway as we see the temporary structure around the SUV. The mannequin is covered in a transparent covering. It will probably be taken off once the project is completed.
People come up with unique forms to design water tanks in many parts of the country to break the monotony. I know people have an intense passion for some particular vehicles. These become the cult classics in the world of automobiles. Scorpio has definitely attained that level of popularity. Having been around for over two decades, it finds application in all sorts of environments. This includes semi-urban and rural regions, in addition to urban commutes. People use it as a passenger carrier, luggage carrier or sheer off-roader due to its rugged build.
Our View
I appreciate the love people shower on their favourite automobiles. As car aficionados, we love to report cases of people displaying their love for cars without actually hurting anyone. People often modify their cars extensively to show their passion for vehicles. But that is neither legal nor useful as they change the very essence of the car. But having a water storage tank at home is an innocuous way to express your love for cars. To be honest, I wouldn’t mind coming across more such cases going forward.
