Indian roads can be full of unbelievable occurrences which is why these are so unpredictable
In a new video, a man was challaned Rs 23,000 by the Traffic Police for converting an 18-year-old Mahindra Bolero into an open jeep. Furthermore, there were many modifications on the vehicle which caught the attention of the cops. We come across innumerable instances where people customize the exterior of their vehicles completely. Note that most car modifications are illegal in India. Hence, if the cops catch you, they are bound to slap a challan. Still, some people don’t pay heed to the warnings and regulations and commit this blunder. For now, let us take a look at the details of this latest case.
18-yo Mahindra Bolero Converted to Open Jeep
The specifics of this case stem from Punjab Kesari Haryana on YouTube. The news channel highlights the entire details of this weird case. As per the information in the video, the Police were on the lookout for this heavily modified open jeep for a long time. When the Police spotted it, they inquired about the details of this car. The people who were driving it had no license, no paperwork and the vehicle violated most laws of the Motor Vehicles Act. Hence, the Police personnel seized the car and asked the owner to present all documents related to the car.
When the authorities scanned the history of the car and the owner, it was found that this was originally a 2006 Mahindra Bolero. The owner had sold it in scrappage. The current owner then bought it and performed all sorts of alterations. As a consequence, we see this open jeep with 2-ft wide tyres and insane modifications which are not in line with the rules and regulations. Hence, the Police slapped a challan of Rs 23,000 and the investigation is going on further. This is a perfect instance to make people understand that most car modifications are illegal in India. Hence, you must always avoid these at any cost.
My View
I am glad that our authorities are finally taking the right measures to tackle the insanity of aftermarket car modifications. In the last few years, I have reported tons of instances where people do what they please without taking the laws into consideration. That is never a good idea. Motor Vehicles Act is made to ensure the maximum safety and standard in our country. Hence, we must adhere to it come what may. I hope appropriate action is taken against the owner of this open jeep which was a Mahindra Bolero in its previous life.
