Man Gets A Bill of Rs 32 Lakh by Uber
As per the reports, a man in the UK named Olvier booked an Uber to meet with his friends in a town called Tameside. It was a regular evening where the ride took around 10 minutes and the bill was expected to be around £10 – £11. After reaching the destination, Olvier went about his usual business. After getting up the next morning, he was shocked out of his wits by Uber trying to deduct £35,000 (around Rs 32 lakh when converted to INR) from his account.

In reality, the Uber driver put the destination as Tameside in Australia by mistake. Since the names of the towns are identical, he didn’t bother to cross-check. The Uber app calculated the distance of 10,000 miles from the UK to Australia which is clearly a glitch and generated a bill of £35,000. Surprisingly, the system tried to take this amount from the account too. However, the transaction was declined due to insufficient funds in the account of the rider.
