Mahindra XUV700 and Toyota Fortuner are two of the most popular SUVs in their respective segments. But what happens when these two go toe-to-toe in a tug of war?
In this video, we see a Mahindra XUV700 and a Toyota Fortuner battling it out in a tug of war. While it may sound like an unfair competitive at first glance, their credentials are not far off from one another. The XUV700 has garnered a wild craze ever since its launch last year. The bookings have gone through the roof and the waiting periods are around 15-18 months for specific trims in some cities. On the other hand, the Fortuner is an established full-size premium SUV that is more off-road focused. Now that its chief rival, Ford Endeavour is gone from the Indian market, its dominance in the segment is unchallenged.

XUV700 Fortuner Tug War
The short video clip has been uploaded on YouTube and contains two attempts. The SUVs are tied from their rear ends and driven forward. The YouTuber is seen counting down and both the drivers press down the accelerator pedal with purpose. Smoke is visible from the excessive wheel spin since both the SUVs are posing resistance to the forward movement of one another. In this first attempt, the Fortuner pulls the XUV700 towards itself a little. In the second attempt, the results are similar. The Fortuner emerges victorious in both attempts although too much force was not applied from both ends to prevent damage to the SUVs. As soon as on started moving, the race was stopped.
