The Mahindra XUV700 will launch in the coming weeks and will go on to become the most premium SUV to come from the house of our homegrown UV specialist. The XUV700 has been spied numerous times and just a couple of days after we saw its uncamouflaged unit, we have yet another spy pic that reveals an important detail of the upcoming SUV. It’s been often seen that the middle-row of a SUV doesn’t provide enough space but the image we have here clearly shows the kind of spacious ness the upcoming flagship from Mahindra offers.

Spotted in Wakad, Pune, the test mule has not only provided us a look at the spacious rear seat of the Mahindra XUV700, but has also given out some more details. As per the car spotter, the upcoming SUV will feature 18-inch alloy wheels. He has also mentioned that he saw the automatic transmission gear lever and that the single console for infotainment screen and instrument cluster looks ‘big’. He also mentioned that there are no ventilated seats on offer but he did manage to take a picture of the camera lens on the ORVM, thereby indicating that the SUV would offer a 360-degree parking aid. Furthermore, it has been revealed that the middle-row seat would have. 60:40 split while even the last row will be sufficiently spacious. Yet another revelation comes in the form of a rotary drive mode selector.

It must be noted here that the Mahindra XUV700 will be a feature-laden offering that will come with segment-best equipment in the form of auto headlamp booster, Level-2 Advanced Driving Aid Systems (ADAS), dual-zone climate control, high-end music system from Sony, largest-in-segment panoramic sunroof, Alexa support, air purifier and clear view LED headlamps. It is important to mention here that the XUV700 was earlier touted to be a replacement for the XUV500 but earlier this year, Mahindra surprised everyone by revealing that the new SUV will be instead positioned half a segment above and under a slightly different brand name.
Visually, however, the Mahindra XUV700 looks a lot like the XUV500. The front end has a similarly large grille but its headlamps are more modern and even give the SUV a unique look. The side profile, however, is near identical. The smart door handles though, help the XUV700 look a bit more premium. The rear-end, thankfully, is completely different. Even the interior will be a lot different and will not only offer more space but will even look much more modern due to the Mercedes-like unipod for infotainment and instrument screens. Engine options will include 2.0-litre tubro-petrol and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel options available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. AWD will be optional.
